Tigerlily Screening Process

We take great pride in our Team of Maternity Nurses; many of which have worked for Tigerlily for many years. Whilst a Maternity Nurse enjoys one of the most rewarding careers in the domestic childcare market;the role requires specialist skills and can take many years to gain the experience require to become an expert in their field.

Our process for recruiting new Maternity Nurses is very stringent. We take great care in interviewing, we meet all candidates for a lengthy interview during which time we check of all original documentation. Once we are satisfied that the candidate has the necessary skills, experience and enthusiasm we then take up references. Speaking to a Maternity Nurses previous client can give us a great insight into her way of working and specialist areas; all references are held on file. We expect all our Maternity Nurses to attend regularly training courses, including Paediatric First Aid, sleep training, breast feeding, and new baby healthcare. We also ask that all our Maternity Nurses have a regular enhanced CRB check (Criminal Records Bureau check).

What Qualifications might a Maternity Nurse Have?

Most Maternity Nurses will come from a nanny or midwifery background, so will have had a long career working with babies and children. We would expect a Maternity Nurse to have taken advantage of the many additonal courses available offering specialist training for Maternity Nurses. These cover sleep training, breast and bottle feeding, weaning, baby & mum health care, multiples and the Maternity Nurse Training Course (MNT).
